Remember Optimus Prime?

Remember how this was my first attempt at cake decorating? Well last night Jarom and I decided to try fondant for the first time. We wanted a smooth cake, just like what the professionals use! Here it is.

When we made this we weren't trying to make anything in particular, just a normal cake covered in fondant. When it was done, it was just so white and blank, and the top two edges just happened to be rounded, so it reminded me of a tomb stone. So I used the extra fondant to decorate a bit. Then Jarom pulled out some food coloring and painted away. Ha. But, we now know how to make fondant, so maybe we can try something more crazy soon! And oh man is it SWEET. Lots of sugar.

Also, over the weekend I learned a very valuable lesson. I learned the exact time in the microwave you need to reach the explosion point of margarine. 29 seconds. Not 30. 29. Because I put it in for 30. And it exploded with 1 second left. It was the loudest boom I've ever heard from a microwave. When I opened the door, every single surface was dripping with margarine. And there was a little tiny puddle left in the bowl I had put it in. I have to say, I was definitely not expecting that to happen.

BATHROOM:

While using the Provo Library bathroom, I saw this inside the stall:

My first thought that it was probably there to change diapers.....

But then I realized, usually people like their baby to be laying down to change diapers...not sitting up. After contemplating this predicament for awhile, I finally came to the only logical conclusion: This is the new age babysitter! If you want to go stroll through the library for awhile, undisturbed by your child, just strap them to the wall! They won't get lost, or hurt, and if they cry, you won't be able to hear them! It's perfect. Just strap them here and be on your merry way. When you're done, they'll be right where you left them! Good thinking library.

I saw one of those things in Idaho and I thought it was the funniest and best idea ever. Now you won't have to worry about your kid crawling out of the stall or playing with the tp or whatever else. Nice cakes.

I loved that safe sitter! I miss it... you don't find them that often, but I remember them coming in handy with my crazy 10 month old who ran around everywhere! I totally should have used it as my baby sitter though... Can you imagine the surprise that the next person who used the stall would get!

Curb Appeal Galore

 This post is to document the journey our outside of our house has been on over the last few years. A lot of these projects I took on this summer, and a few I did earlier. Going Away Present

Tomorrow is going to be my last day of work at good old Independent Study. It's kind of sad, but also kind of exciting and scary all at the same time. It's sad because I've been here for so long. This is the longest I've ever had one job, and I have made a lot of really good friends here. It's exciting because I will get to have a lot of time off to do whatever I want during the day! And it's scary because I don't have another job lined up yet. After 6 months of applying and interviewing, I'm still none the better for it. I was lucky enough to have one co-worker who cared enough about me and my departure to give me a going-away present. A couple of days of randomness

I have a couple stories from the past couple days I thought would be fun to share. Yesterday I had a job interview!!! It is for my boss's job at Independent Study. She is having a baby, so I want her job. We shall see how that turns out. After the interview I was waiting in the parking lot for Jarom to come pick me up. While I was waiting there, a lost traveler asked me for directions to the Wilkenson parking lot. I told her to take a right out of the parking lot, then a right at the stop light, and blah blah blah. She thanked my and proceeded on her trek. I then became aware of why she was lost. She took a left out of the parking lot. Not a right, a left. I said right. One left does not equal two rights. It must be hard to get places if you get your lefts and rights mixed up. Poor lady. Yesterday we also decided to drive up to view an apartment that is for rent.
