While visiting my family for the holidays, I had a long conversation with my grandmother who lives with my parents. As a brief background, she is getting old. Fast. She is losing her hearing, vision, and mind. She tends to spend the majority of her days in her room. The only time she leaves is when she eats and poops. During my visit with her, I said the following: "Grandma, you know you can come out to the living room whenever you like, it's good to have you there." Something more or less like that. The next day my mom confronts me and says "GINA! Grandma is SO excited that you invited her to come stay with you in UTAH!" WHAT? No. I did nothing of the sort. I cannot house her. I have no bed for her, no food for her, no time, no no no. Not that I don't care about her, but no. I wouldn't be able to have her live with me for any period of time. All I can do now is hope she realizes she's too ill to leave her cozy little home right where she is.
