Bendy Joints

I have made a series of discoveries about myself as my life has progressed. A few of them are all tied together and I will share. When I was born, probably the first thing my mother noticed about me was that I had my dad's thumbs. They are bendy. They go backwards easier than they go straight up and down. After I got married, I started noticing a difference between Jarom's digits and my digits. My fingers can be pushed backwards, almost to a 90 degree angle to my hand. I just thought that was normal. But Jarom's fingers are like a stiff wooden board that have no give whatsoever. The same goes for our toes. Mine bend backwards pretty easily. I just assumed that was a characteristic of toes. But not HIS toes...Again. Straight wooden boards. A couple months ago I went to the chiropractor. They were taking general X-rays of my back and neck area. At one point she asked me to "Bend my head back as far as I could." So I did. And held it there, waiting.  She fussed...

Never too many pictures

I have been having a lot of fun practicing photography. So though these aren't pictures and/or stories of me or Jarom, these are pictures we have taken together.  Here is a combination of some family and some friend's photos we've taken this last week.

Photography

We had the opportunity to go out on our first official, but really unofficial, photoshoot! Jarom and I team-shot his sister's family, and we had so much fun. Since you usually only see the perfect smiles and perfect pictures from photography, I thought I'd show you something else as well. Here I will have some of the good pictures with the perfect smiles, but also some of the imperfect, in between moments that are bound to happen with little kids around. I think they make the story of the day a lot more funny. So first are the good pictures. Also keep in mind, we shot about 600 total photos, so this is just a tiny sample of what we have.   Poking her eyes out And then we have the less than perfect pictures. Everyone looking in a completely different direction Just...not so happy Hair falling out, literally 1 minute after arriving Crying, after He hit HER in the head....yeah.   Like I already mentioned, we had...

Dream Journal

Since I have nothing noteworthy happening in my actual life to write about, I decided to pull from my less-than-real life for a story. Today I have two dreams to share. If anyone is a professional dream interpreter, feel free to analyze and tell me how weird I am. Two Nights Ago: I was back working at Taco Bell, again. (This was my first job as a 16 year old)  I was running the drive-through by myself, which can get stressful when it's busy, but I was managing. There were some problems with the speakers and my headsets, me not hearing people's orders and such. But the main part of the dream was when a customer came through and ordered $150 worth of ketchup. So then I was scrambling around, trying to figure out how many packets of ketchup would equal $150, where the ketchup was even located, how to count out that many at the same time as keeping track of all the other orders coming through, all while keeping the car at the window for less than one minute so the stupid timer...

Beginning of Fall Vacation

We got back from Wisconsin the day before I had to return to work. So that was the end of summer. But the very next weekend, we went on another one! Granted, a mini one, but we got to go up to Bear Lake for the first time with Jarom's sister and family. We stayed in a cabin and boated all day long. Unfortunately, my lack of reapplying sunscreen partway through the day resulted in the most painful sunburn I have yet to experience. It was only bad on my face and my knees. But, I had a hard time walking there for a few days. My knees were slightly swollen, didn't like to bend, and having anything touch them (you know, like pants, skirts, bedspread, the like) was pretty painful. Luckily I have moved past the raw stage, through the scabby stage, and into the peeling stage. I shaved for the first time this morning, and left the tub coated in dead skin. Gross, I know. On to less nasty things, here are a ton of photos from our fun times. Trying desperately to get up on those ...
