Whoa, That Was Weird.

I had one of those, "whoa, that's weird" moments the other day. Nothing big or significant in any way, but still made me stop for a moment. So I must give 2 background stories first. 1. Last year we were at a volleyball game. We got there early, like always, in order to get our favorite baseline seats. Before the game started, one of the workers for the game came by and asked us if we wanted to participate in the serving challenge that would take place in between the 2nd and 3rd games. Of course I said yes. So he had to take down our names. He went one by one, and then got to me. I said "Gina." He said, "What? Janelle?" No... GEE-NUH! GINA He said "uh, Geenya?" WHAT?!!? Does that even make sense!? Whose name is Gee-NYA??? At this point I don't remember if I corrected him again or not. But, you should want to know that I did end up winning that serving challenge. I had to serve the ball over the net into a hoola hoop. I don't remember...

My General Conference Saturday

As most of you should know, this weekend is General Conference Weekend. This is always an exciting time. I always look forward to hearing what the leaders of the Church have to say, and I enjoy the Spirit that resides in the meetings. So we were able to trek up to Salt Lake and see the session in person. Always a neat experience I think. I love listening to the organ and choir in person, and looking down at the General Authorities in person, even if they're pretty minuscule looking. Anyways, after that session, we all walked around Temple Square for a little while, and then sent the boys back to priesthood while we had a girls night. We had all come prepared with a change of clothes so we could walk around in jeans and not be freezing. Unfortuna...

Testing Etiquette

Yesterday we had a lot of test takers come into our office. They are trying to finish up for April Graduation from BYU. One particular test taker stood out from all the rest, and that is because of how she assembled her test. Usually the common way to assemble a test is to staple the pages behind each other. I think someone taught her to think outside that box, because this is what she handed me... I hope you can see the humor in this without me having to explain further. Sorry it's a bad picture, it was taken from a cell phone in less than ideal lighting.
