Good and Bad Discoveries of the Week

This week we have discovered the secret to life in Provo!! I am serious, it's the best thing ever, and everyone who lives in or near Provo, must take advantage of this secret to life. 1. Go to the Winsong movie theater 2. Purchase a ticket for "Take" (preferably Matinee) 3. Preferably, do not watch this movie because it is a waste of time. But if you have nothing better to do with yourself, go ahead and watch it. 4. Take your movie stub to the dollar theater located by Costco in Orem 5. Finally, enjoy UNLIMITED free movies at this theater. That's right, I said UNLIMITED FREE MOVIES at the dollar theater. I know this sounds to good to be true, but it is oh so true. I have done it, and it works. Last night, we watched a free Indiana Jones from this movie ticket. It was amazing. The movie Take is pretty worthless, but the reward is priceless. Ok, so on to the bad discoveries of the week. I have recently become aware of the advantages and disadvantages that tag along with...

IT HAPPENED THIS WAY

I hope this will brighten your day. The following was published by an insurance company for internal distribution. These reports were submitted when policyholders were asked for a brief statement describing their particular accident. I tried to pick the best ones. Enjoy. "The other car collided with mine without giving warning of its intention." "I thought my window was down but found it was up when I put my hand through it." "A pedestrian hit me and went under my car." "I pulled away from the side of the road, glanced at my mother-in-law and headed over the embankment." "The accident occured when I was attempting to bring my car out of a skid by steering it into the other vehicle." "As I approached the intersection, a stop sign suddenly appeared in a place where no stop sign had ever appeared before. I was unable to stop in time to aviod and accident." "The telephone pole was approaching fast. I was attempting to sw...

Random Thoughts and Observations

As a news update, Jarom and I have finally been released as Sunday School teachers. We are now members of the activity committee. It's actually quite funny to me that this is what our new calling is. I will tell you why. Last year when we didn't have any calling yet, Jarom said to me "I bet we will be called to be Sunday School teachers." Why is that? "Because that's the calling I don't want the most right now. As you have guessed, we then got called to be sunday school teachers. This year, when we found out we were going to be released soon, Jarom said to me, "I bet we are going to be activities committee members." Why is that? "Because I've already been a sunday school teacher, so I know I won't get that calling, and activities committe is my next least favorite that I don't want to have." Well guess what? My husband is cursed. Or, the Lord truly does have a sense of humor! Actually, I have another story that proves...

Big Blob of Goodness

We live in the basement of a house. Our landlords were gracious enough to furnish this house for us poor newly weds who have no furniture. For the year and a half we have been married, we having been watching TV on someone else's couch, storing our pictures and books on someone else's bookshelves, and heating our food in someone else's microwave. Well, yesterday we made our first furniture purchase. We call it, our big blob of goodness. It is big, it is blobby, and it is good. It takes up a third of our living room, and we can run and launch ourselves on it like a pile of leaves. Fortunately, it is much cleaner and softer than leaves. You guessed it, it's a freaking huge love sac! Well, I don't actually think it's love sac brand, but it has a big tag on it that says "The Big Bag" and nothing else. And oh my, it's big. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get pictures of us taking it into the house, because it took both of us and all our body w...

Unfinished Business..from a year and a half ago

So this story is probably going to be pointless and boring to you, but since I haven't had anything to write about for awhile, I decided this was at least something! So about a year and a half ago, for those of you who haven't heard, Jarom and I got married. For the next few months, I scrambled around trying to change all my legal documents to my new last name. I changed my drivers license, my email address, and even my name at work. Unfortunately, there was one place I never did change it. Underneath our fax machine at work, we have folders for each employee so we can keep our notes, important faxes, and other important things stored in a safe place. My folder was still under the name of Gina Gray. Since this is a personal folder that only I use, I never saw the need to pull out the old tab and change it with a new one. So I didn't. This never presented a problem until yesterday. Unfortunately, I have now been at this job longer than all my fellow employees, so the...
