The SAC

At work the last little while we have had a bit of down time. So we finally decided to redecorate the room. We have started small, but this was long overdue. The bulletin boards and decorations have been the same for longer than anyone can remember. I was put mostly in charge because they think I'm the only one with any artistic ability. So I wanted to share this new sign I made with you, but before you see it, you need some background. We work in the Student Assistance Center. This is usually just abbreviated to SAC (pronounced like the word "sack"). Therefore, everyone calls us SAC ladies. We have recently hired a man, so he is the SAC man. Recently, a new trend has started with the students. When we are in classes substituting and a student starts misbehaving, the rest of the class starts chanting "SAC HIM! SAC HIM!" That means they will be kicked out of class and sent to the SAC. The SAC is where kids in detention go, or any other kind of trouble. But don...

Icicles of Death

This is something I definitely have never seen before. Walking down our walkway for our apartment complex, I saw the icicles of death that managed to plow themselves all the way through the floor/roof, right in the center! Not even on the edge. And a random picture. Look at this cute little house that I painted! Thanks to my sister-in-law Amy for the supplies and guidance. I just had to show off.

Here is where we got bored and purposely burned a whole through the hair by getting the microscope too close to it. And here is is just in the middle of hair. We're looking at some dust or something like that I'm assuming.

Sledding, Update #2

This week we did lots of fun things together, including going to movies, visiting extended family, and sledding! One of our most fun nights was Wednesday night. Was that the night of the storm? I think it was. Anyway, we decided to go watch a movie in the dollar theater, so we all went out and unburied the car and shoveled a way out of the parking lot. We piled in and pulled out onto the road. We were behind a row of cars all stopped at the intersection waiting to get onto State Street. When we looked up at the car in the very front of the row, it was turned sideways and spinning the heck out of it's tires. We promptly noticed how you could not see any pavement, because it was all underneath a solid sheet of ice. After sitting there for awhile, watching this guy fail at getting through the intersection, and watching all the other cars creep as slowly as possible down and up the hill of State Street, we decided that a dollar movie wasn't worth risking getting hit by an out of c...
