What The...? (Part 2)

Ok, so I know I already have a post titled "What The...?" but I just couldn't think of a better phrase than that for this post. So I used it again, though this story is completely unrelated to the previous "What The...?" Story. So, for starters, I play volleyball with Jarom and friends, usually three times a week. Previously, before my boss-friend Andrea decided to uproot herself and move to Europe, she also played with us. She has outlined a very relevant story that happened to her while playing volleyball about a month ago. You should read it here: One Complete Moronic Fool I Will Stab to Death Later for Robbing me of Sleep I think you'll get the idea of what it is about due to the title of her post. So after reading that, you can move onto my story. Tonight was one of our volleyball nights. We are all enjoying ourselves, until about an hour before we were done, this one complete moronic fool showed up...again. The same one as in Andrea's story. ...

I Hate Bugs

Alright. Everyone can stop making fun of me now for my last post! I'll tell you what happened real quick. I made a really long post that was one big venting session about a really frustrating situation I had at work last week. After completing it and posting it, I decided there was probably a little too much information on there about the student I was hating, and I didn't want to get into trouble with FERPA laws or anything, cuz knowing my luck he would find my blog and kill me. So I deleted it, and I didn't know how to delete the whole post, just the text and stuff, so it looks like I posted nothing. So there. So for this post, you need to know some background about my genetics. Half of my chromosomes came from my mother, and half of them came from my father (Imagine that). In most visible things about my body, my father's characteristics have been more strongly passed on than my mothers. I have my dad's fair skin, not my mom's olive skin. I have my da...

What The...?

Frequently Jarom and I are woken up either late at night or early in the morning due to our neighbor's loud talking and other various activities. Unfortunately, we try to leave the window open to cool down our house, which amplifies the noise that comes into our bedroom. Well, this morning, we were woken up with a very, ummm...special, treat. At about 7:30, we started hearing weird noises over and over again. It sounded like low airy-grumblingness. Yeah, that's right. It would go for a few seconds, then stop for a few seconds, repeated over and over again. I thought it was some kind of cleaning truck on the street or something. Jarom says, "man, it sounds like they're blowing up a hot-air balloon!" Finally, we decided we wouldn't be able to go back to sleep, so we got up. Upon looking out of our window, the reaction went something like this: "WHAT THE?!?!?" Yeah. Turns out Jarom was right on. They were blowing up a hot air balloon in the...

Sage, Rosemary and Thyme...

These notes are to help you picture that the title of this post is supposed to be sung...to that old song that says "Sage, Rosemary and Thyme!!!". Yeah. So. Jarom's parents are coming into town in a couple days. One thing that we know his dad likes, is herbs and such. We happen to have a large rosemary plant in our front yard. So Jarom decided to be a wonderful son and harvest a bunch of it so we can dry it now in time for his dad to take it home with him. After trying baking it in the sun and the oven, both to speed up the drying process, this is how they ended up. Yes. That is our kitchen. And yes. They are strung across the entire thing upside down. And yes, our house smells like rosemary. And, we have to duck every time we cross the kitchen, which happens every time we go in or out of our bathroom or bedroom.

7-11! Bwa HAHAHAHAH!!

Today is 7/11. For all those who haven't heard, the small convenience stores who have been named 7-11 take special interest in this day. In celebration, they give out free slurpies to all! So go get some! Actually, at this time of the day, you probably won't get a free one. We have already tried. Apparently they don't actually plan on supplying free slurpies all day long, because they only purchase a certain amount of cups that are specially made for the free-size (meaning, they're smaller than normal) and when they run out, which they always do, too bad for you. But you may as well try! In other news...I have been spending my work day in very efficient ways today. We have been volunteered to help out the EFY kids in their service project. Apparently they will be knitting something, so we get to untangle balls of yarn and wrap them around giant popsicle sticks so the special EFY kids just have to take nice clean, untangled, yarn directly off a stick. So here I sit, wrap...

Proclamation on the Family and LDS Peoples

So, I have made an amazing accomplishment this past week. I have succesffuly memorized the ENTIRE Proclamation on the Family. Don't worry, I didn't just do it out of boredom, it is actually an assignment for one of my classes. It is in fact, worth as much as the final exam. The crappy thing is, that every other teacher who teaches this class, make memorizing the Proclamation OPTIONAL. Oh no, mine is definitely MANDATORY. It's worth 1/5 of my grade. But I have done it, and will recite it tomorrow to my TA. Wish me luck! While studying this Proclamation, I also came across some news articles that made me really angry, so here comes my venting section. The Presidency of the Church has sent out a letter asking Latter-day Saints to take an active position against legalizing gay marriages. I know this is especially an issue in California. Gay marriages being legal is a direct attack on principles that the Proclamation talks about. Seeing that the Proclamation is a huge part of ou...
