This morning my hubby and I were enjoying a relaxing Saturday by watching whatever was on TV. We happened to be watching TBS. A movie called Phenomenon with John Travolta was on. We had just reached the climax, with about 10 minutes of the movie left. Travolta was just breathing his dying breath when all of a sudden, it switched to a commercial. Then it switched back, before the commercial was over, like a flash that wasn't supposed to have happened. Only now, there was something different about the movie, everyone was talking in Spanish! Unfortunately I do not know Spanish, and neither does Jarom. So we missed the dialog for the rest of the movie, still feeling caught up in that vital moment that was jerked away. I didn't even know something like that was possible. Even the next program that came on was in Spanish. We turned the TV off. But don't worry, it is now fixed and back in English.
This post is to document the journey our outside of our house has been on over the last few years. A lot of these projects I took on this summer, and a few I did earlier. I am so happy with where we are currently at, but still have some plans before it's finished. So, here is what it looked like the day we bought the house. Seven years ago. Don't let the "grass" fool you. It's just weeds. And the ugly brown window trims paired with the ridiculously old glass in the windows and the green brick with maroon grout. Not too pretty. We have since painted the door, trim, and replaced the windows. Also replaced the porch light and house numbers. This spring we also had a new concrete half circle driveway installed. We live on a busy street and our front yard is useless and our driveway is tiny. So now we have much more functionality, less weeds, and overall happiness.
