Stretched Vs Stumpy

If you look at any of our pictures of Jarom and I standing next to each other, you might notice that we seem to be the exact same height. I have known this for awhile. Nothing new. But the other day, I did notice something new, while we were both standing in front of the bathroom mirror brushing our teeth. His shoulders are a good 2 inches higher than mine! Yet, the top of our heads are even. How does that work?

After careful investigation, we discovered that either I have a long giraffe neck, or Jarom has a stumpy neck. Or both. The important thing is, if we both had my length of neck, Jarom would be taller than me. If we switched necks, he would be taller. If we both had Jarom's length neck, he would be taller. Basically any combination other than what we have, he would be taller. Because his body is longer. But my neck is longer. Weird.

Haha, that's funny! Don't worry, both your necks are very nice. I think . . . My sister and I have noticed something similar--she's only barely taller than me standing, but when we sit down (legs straight out), her legs go on for like a mile past mine, and my head is way above hers. Apparently, I'm extremely long-torso-ed and her legs are like 50 feet long. It's weird how your body parts can be so different and end up the same height.

Cake 2.0

Here is our second attempt at fondant covered, decorated cake. We're still working on getting things smoother looking and stuff. It's a chocolate cake with caramel filling. Unfortunately the caramel didn't turn out quite like it was supposed to. It turned into basically sugar. It's probably because I was lazy and used margarine instead of butter. But it's still sweet and that's what's important right?

Going Away Present

Tomorrow is going to be my last day of work at good old Independent Study. It's kind of sad, but also kind of exciting and scary all at the same time. It's sad because I've been here for so long. This is the longest I've ever had one job, and I have made a lot of really good friends here. It's exciting because I will get to have a lot of time off to do whatever I want during the day! And it's scary because I don't have another job lined up yet. After 6 months of applying and interviewing, I'm still none the better for it.
